This book, "Preparation & Strategy:Practice Questions for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test, Level 2" is published by ALC, the company that in my opinion produces the best study books for the JLPT. This book is straightforward;it involves sections on Kanji & Vocabulary, Listening Comprehension (cassette tape unfortunately sold separately, but the script is included in this book so someone can read it to you), Grammar & Reading, and finally a practice test. I found this book's level to be more difficult than the actual test, so don't let it worry you too much. In fact, it's good preparation because then you are pleasantly surprised during the test! Doing the practice questions is a good way to review quickly before the test while focusing on your weak area, and the book also involves helpful hints about taking the test and how to think about the problems. I learned a lot from this book!
