アイルランドの国民的シンガー・ソング・ライター、ラブ・ソングを集めたしコンピレーションです。代表曲"Lady In Red"のほか、新曲3曲と再録音曲（"In Love Forevre","Separate Tables", "If You Really Love Her, Let Her Go", "In A Country Churchyard"）収録。おしゃれ・キレイなAOR系列の音楽とでも言おうか、華美なストリングス、深いエコーがかかったポップス。不可ではないが、よくあるタイプの音楽であるのに声量が乏しく・音域は狭く・声は没個性的なのは致命的。評価が高い人なので一曲も知らないまま購入してみたが、心に響かなかった。

One look at the list of seventeen songs chosen for this album would leave one with nothing more to say.
All but four a work of the heaven-sent John-Taupin duo. Check out the lyrics, too.
This edition, in particular, if you have an audio system at least as sophisticated as the one I have, is indeed noticeably clearer, crispier.
If you doubt the overwhelming NEED for it, though--pointing out that Elton John plays the piano, and sounds as good in a concert hall of thousands with the lights on doing his rock tunes--then you would be right. Except that all these are his ballads, which, even in the same concert hall, would have the lights turned way down low, the audience in hushed touched swaying silence.
It was worth getting this second copy for me.
