The song by Eric Carmen, covered countless times over the decades. Surprisingly sung relatively similarly, even when Steve Perry and his immensely powerful voice did it. Nonetheless, Celine does justice to it, with her equally-powerful voice, which she holds even at its most forceful moments.
"When I was young, I never needed anyone, and making love was just for fun; those days are gone. Living alone, I think of all the friends I've known, but when I dial the telephone, nobody's home. All by myself, 'don't wanna be . . . ". Poignant to the point of painful.
Brilliant choice of song to cover. One of two in the album "Falling Into You".
( This CD single, released for the market through Sony, contains a live recording of one of Celine's french songs, "Pour Que Tu M'Aimes Encore". )
