Secondly, she looks sensational in swimwear. The film has less nudity than many TV commercials, but it's frequently very sexy. Akane is so pretty she will make your heart burst. Her smile is dazzling like dawn in an aeroplane.
There are many powerfully sensual moments. Akane washing her hair in the sea at sunset is one of the most evocative things I've ever seen on film.
The music is mostly tracks by Toshi Kubota. It enhances the mood very well.
On the negative side, the DVD is only 30 minutes long! No extras, nothing. While this does make it convenient to watch regularly, it's hardly good value-for-money. And while the camerawork is mostly good, the colour is over-saturated, painfully so in the barbecue sequence. There are a few parts that don't really work, that should have been removed.
I would have liked to hear Akane talk more. She doesn't say much because she's playing a role, of the sweet girlfriend we'd all like to remember. It's nostalgia in a convenient package.
